3.  Termination of Authority to Award the Armed Forces Service Medal and Humanitarian Service Medal for Department of Defense Coronavirus Disease 2019 Operations and Activities.
3.a.  Effective June 1, 2023, the authorization to award the Armed Forces Service Medal and Humanitarian Service Medal to Service members for DoD coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) operations and activities is terminated.  Termination is based on DoD no longer conducting designated or significant COVID-19 operations or activies that warrant continued award.
