GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  Background.  The 2021 GAO report on tactical vehicles found that the majority of tactical vehicle mishaps occurred due to human error at both the operator and supervisory level.  To accurately determine the issues facing Marine Corps vehicle operators, the Commandant of the Marine Corps Safety Division has developed an online tactical vehicle operator questionnaire.  This anonymous online tool will be used to gain a better understanding of how tactical vehicle operators view a variety of topics, including the quality of training, level of proficiency, and greatest challenges.  Participants will also be given the opportunity to provide direct feedback via personal responses.
2.  Mission.  Leaders at all levels, where tactical vehicle operators are present, shall afford all school-trained and incidental vehicle operators the opportunity to participate in the Marine Corps tactical vehicle operator questionnaire.  The questionnaire will be available from 22 May until 7 July 2023 and completion is estimated to take less than 10 minutes.
3.  Endstate.  Data will be compiled and analyzed by the Safety Division.  Recommendations for adjustments and improvements to tactical vehicle operations and policies will then be disseminated through commanders.  As always, the goal is to maximize the proficiency and lethality of our forces while minimizing injury to Marine and Sailors, and decreasing equipment damages and loss.
4.  The questionnaire is accessible 24 hours a day via computer or smartphone by using the following link: https:(slash)(slash).semperfisurveys.org/survey.  The survey code is 2630589.
5. Release authorized by Lieutenant General Gregg P. Olson, Director, Marine Corps Staff.//
