GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  This message is an update to Ref A and publishes new guidance regarding the screening and selection of enlisted Marines for MARSOC Critical Skills Operator (CSO) Primary Military Occupational Specialty (PMOS) 0372 billets.  Additionally, MARSOC screens Special Operations Capabilities Specialist (SOCS) and Combat Service Support (CSS) billets in support of U.S. Special Operations Command requirements.  Updates regarding the enlisted CSO Reserve opportunities screening and selection process will be issued via separate correspondence.  Officers interested in the Special Operations Officer (SOO) PMOS 0370 program may attend any of these visits.
2.  Task.  To introduce and inform commanders of the planning, implementation and execution of the FY24 HQMC MARSOC Screening Team (HMST) visits.
3.  Purpose.  Brief interested Marines on the opportunities and pathways for SOO, CSO, SOCS and CSS billets for possible future assignments.
4.  Briefing team.
4.a.  The team is comprised of representatives from HQMC, Manpower Management Enlisted Assignments and MARFORSOC.
4.b.  Roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:  screening, population development, and commander interface.
4.c.  MARFORSOC representatives conduct orientation briefs and interviews.  Those qualified volunteer CSO applicants will receive tentative assignment to an Assessment and Selection (A&S) course pending approval from HQMC.  The SOCS and CSS candidates will receive further assignment information.
5.  Participants.
5.a.  A list of Marines screened by HQMC and MARFORSOC, who meet all pre-requisites will be published via separate correspondence (SEPCOR) to the Major Subordinate Commands (MSC) no later than 90 days before each semi-annual HMST visit.
5.b.  Marines interested in applying prior to a HMST brief should contact a MARFORSOC recruiter and/or their Career Planner and begin the Command Screening Checklist for the appropriate program.
6.  Commanders.
6.a.  Commanders are directed and required to ensure all Marines listed in the SEPCOR attend the MARFORSOC orientation briefs delineated in the below coordinating instructions.
6.b.  Request Commanders afford the Marines not listed in the SEPCOR, but interested in MARFORSOC assignment, the opportunity to attend the orientation brief.
7.  Coordinating Instructions.
7.a.  MSC Career Planners at the Base/Station, Division, MLG, and Wing level will provide a consolidated roster of Marines who are physically unable to attend the HMST to the HMST Briefing Team on the applicable briefing dates.  Non-availability for screening will not preclude assignment of volunteers to A&S.
7.b.  MSC Career Planners are required to conduct daily reconcilliation of Marines on the list with the HMST Briefing Team.  Commanders and senior enlisted advisors should be briefed by the MSC Career Planners pre and post execution of the HMST regarding adequate attendance.

Note:  This schedule is subject to change, and as needed, will be addressed via SEPCOR.
7.d.  A Letter of Instruction (LOI) containing a detailed schedule and locations of brief/screenings will be sent via SEPCOR from the appropriate Base/Station Career Planner.  This SEPCOR will be published NLT than 30 days before each HMST.
7.e.  MARFORSOC Screening Team in conjunction with Base and MEF Career Planners will conduct a confirmation brief no later than 30 days prior to each HMST.
7.f.  The following is requested at the briefing locations:
7.f.1.  Billeting information upon request.
7.f.2.  Briefing sites made available to accommodate expected attendance.
7.f.3.  Projector for PowerPoint and video presentations.
7.f.4.  Public address system to address audio and video requirements.
7.f.5.  Minimum three tables for applicant screening.
7.f.6.  At the Okinawa location, request transportation with driver (will be covered in depth in LOI).
