GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  Purpose.  This MARADMIN announces the release of Suicide Prevention Program Coordinator (SPPC) and Suicide Prevention Program Officer (SPPO) online training course.
2.  Background.  In accordance with reference (a), Manpower and Reserve Affairs (M&RA), Marine and Family Programs Division (MF), Behavioral Programs Branch (MFC), Suicide Prevention Capability (SPC) serves as the executive authority for suicide prevention policy oversight, development, implementation, and training.  The training course is aligned with the references and aims to standardize the training of SPPCs and SPPOs across the Marine Corps.  The training course is accessible on MarineNet and intended only for uniformed Marines and Service Members appointed by their commands as SPPCs or SPPOs.
3.  Intent.  The SPPC and SPPO are command-level appointments and enable commanders to operationalize suicide prevention in their unit.  The training course provides an overview of the Marine Corps Suicide Prevention System and the roles of the SPPC and SPPO.  The course is designed for appointed SPPCs, E-7 and above, and SPPOs, E-6 and above (E5 for recruiting command only).  See reference (a).
4.  Method.  SPPCs and SPPOs must complete the required training located on MarineNet within 30 days of appointment, per the references.  The training course is asynchronous, online, and self-paced.
    a.  SPPCs and SPPOs who previously completed the work-around training while the online course was unavailable and received a temporary training certificate are required to complete the revised training within 60 days of the MARADMIN publication.
    b.  All SPPCs and SPPOs must review their Marine Online Marine Corps email address and phone numbers prior to taking the training course to ensure information does not include personal emails or phone numbers.  The information gathered from the class registration will be used to populate the Headquarters Marine Corps SPC communication distribution database for SPPCs/SPPOs.
5.  This MARADMIN applies to Active Duty and Reserve Component Marines.
6.  This MARADMIN is canceled 31 December 2023.
7.  Release authorized by LtGen James F. Glynn, Deputy Commandant for Manpower and Reserve Affairs.//
