GENTEXT/REMARKS/1. Current initiatives and ongoing force design efforts required the 7314 enlisted unmanned aerial systems (UAS) operator community to split into two separate PMOSS that operate two separate UAS t/m/s. This necessitates an off-cycle update to ref (a) prior to the publication of the FY23 MOS manual, which will identify these two new training tracks.
2. Today's 7314 enlisted UAS operators are operating three different UASS: group 3 UAS within the VMU’s, group 2 UAS within the GCE units, and group 5 UAS as sensor operators. To achieve this future vision, an in stride transition is necessary to leverage the current 7314 UAS operator population, until the future group 2 community is created in FY23 with its own PMOS identifier (PMOS 7316).
3. During the SUAS schoolhouse (SUASS) development and standup period, 1 March 2022 until 1 October 2023, the below courses are approved as an acceptable requirement substitution for achieving the new 7316 PMOS in order to begin building capacity and qualifying the initial instructor cadre for the SUASS: (1) Complete the requirements for basic unmanned qualification ii (BUQ-ii) in accordance with CJCSI 3255.01 by the following method: complete the unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) operator common core course (m04vahd) at MCAS cherry point, NC or having already received the PMOS of 7314.
(2) A BUQ-ii individual will be awarded the PMOS 7316 after the successful completion of all the below courses being taught at the training and logistics support activity locations:
(a) TALSA VTOL course
(b) TALSA PUMA course
(c) TALSA STALKER course
(d) TALSA PROGRAM manager course
(e) TALSA SUASE course
4. Once the SUASS begins production or 1 October 2023, whichever criteria is reached first, the only acceptable means of meeting the MOS awarding requirement for 7316 will be via the method indicated in the MOS manual.
5. MMIB will report unit diary entries to convert all applicable marines with PMOS 7314 to PMOS 7316. These marines will be identified in a reclassification spreadsheet provided by the UAS group 1-3 coordinator to MMIB. No action is required by the individual marine.
6. This MARADMIN is applicable to the total force.
7. Release authorized by BGen Matthew T. Mowery, assistant deputy commandant for aviation.//
