GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  Purpose.  Per the references, this MARADMIN solicits nominations for FY2021 Marine Corps Language Professional of the Year (LPOY) and the Command Language Program of the Year (CLPOY).
2.  Background.  These awards recognize the contributions of Marine Corps language professionals and Command Language Programs (CLPs) during the previous FY.  Marine Corps CLPOY and LPOY winners are recognized at the annual Advanced Command Language Program Manager course and compete for the DoD CLPOY and LPOY.
3.  Execution.  LPOY nominations are open to active-duty and reserve Marines who meet the criteria below and whose linguistic knowledge and abilities provided outstanding support directly to operating forces.  Marines from any MOS who meet the criteria are eligible and encouraged to apply.  CLPOY nominations are open to any command wishing to recognize outstanding CLPs for accomplishments during FY2021.
3.a.  LPOY and CLPOY nomination packages from the FMF require Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF)-level endorsement via the chain of command.  Marine Corps Intelligence Activity (MCIA) and Marine Cryptologic Support Battalion (MCSB) nominations will be endorsed by Commanding Officer, MCIA.  An awards board will convene during June 2022 to review nominations and select winners.  The Marine LPOY and CLPOY winners will also be the Marine Corps nominees for Department of Defense (DoD) LPOY and CLPOY.  The DoD LPOY and CLPOY board will occur at the Defense Language Institute-Foreign Language Center (DLIFLC), Monterey, CA during July 2022.
